Game Soundtracks I Want to See in Concert

In the past, I have had the privilege of watching Video Games Live twice and The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess once. All were fantastic concerts that brought my favourite video game music to life. If more video game soundtracks went on tour, what would I like to see live?

Phoenix Wright Revealed in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Yes! After months of waiting, Phoenix Wright has been finally revealed in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. As a huge fan of the Phoenix Wright series, I was really excited/curious to see how Capcom would incorporate a non-violent lawyer into a fighting game with super heroes and other-worldly fighting machines, but the new trailer has answered my questions. Hit the jump to see the first glimpse of Phoenix Wright in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Announced (And All Characters Leaked)

Capcom yesterday revealed in a press release that they are working on Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. As with Super Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be an iterative update to the original game that will be sold as a new game on a new disc. As much as I hate this business practice of Capcom’s that’s been happening since Street Fighter II: Championship Edition, historically I’ve only made the problem worse by purchasing these updates on day one. I’m fairly certain that I will continue the cycle by giving Capcom my $40 come November 15, which is when this game is scheduled for release.

What will you get with your $40 investment? Capcom revealed some of those details (such as 4 of the 12 new characters) officially through their press release and some gameplay footage, but some clever folks at NeoGAF were able to poke through Capcom’s own servers and find the remaining 8 new characters. Read through to see all the details!

In Third Person’s Top 5 Favourite DS Games

With the Nintendo 3DS set to hit North America in a matter of days, it’s time to close the books on the Nintendo system that could. Who knew that the ugly and under-powered Nintendo DS would end up becoming one of the best-selling systems of all-time? Who knew the device would actually usher in a new era of casual gaming?

Though I’ll confess to not having played my DS in a very long time, I bought a ton of games for it during its hey day and had a lot of great memories with it. Before moving into the next era of handheld gaming, I thought I’d close things out by listing off my top 5 favourite Nintendo DS games.

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Announced

When I saw the news that Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright was announced by Level 5, I actually stepped away from my desk at work to text my brother the surprise news. Considering the fact that he’s a fan of Phoenix Wright and a huge fan of Professor Layton, this is a match made in heaven for him. I don’t have any numbers to prove it, but I think this is a dream game for a lot of people.

Labour Day Special: Games About Working Real-Life Jobs

Labour Day weekend is meant to be a day where we celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers. As far as video games go, regular occupations in video games include space marine, normal boy who doesn’t know he’s destined to save the world and all-powerful  being with the ability to create farms from the heavens.

The following post highlights a few games worthy of a Labour Day of their own. These video games bravely go into the real-world for inspiration and do their best to make ‘every day’ jobs fun.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Love Post of Objections, Spiky Hair and Adventure Game Awesomeness

As much as I love video games, there aren’t many games I truly geek out about. I like Gears of War, but it’s not a game that has any lasting effects on me when I’m not playing it. When it comes to games I truly geek out about, such as the Street Fighter IV, I constantly talk about it, thoroughly analyze it and evangelize it as much as I can. You don’t need to dig very deep into my blog to realize that I am a huge Street Fighter IV junkie.

While I have not said much about the Phoenix Wright series on my blog, that first game is one of those I truly geek out about. It’s not a perfect, but I’ll be damned if it didn’t leave a huge impression on me.
