Rumored Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Roster Looks Horrible

A reliable source of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite leaks has posted what they’ve heard is the final launch roster for the game. Really hope this isn’t true, but this person’s leaks have been proven to be valid in the past. Check out the list below.

The Capcom side is missing a character, but it’s probably someone like Frank West.

First of all, a projected cast of 28 falls well short of the roster sizes found in the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 series. Even though the game is now in 2v2 format, this feels slim for this style of game. Second of all, we’ve already seen a number of these characters from the previous game, and this one is leveraging most of the same moves and animations, yet Capcom still couldn’t/didn’t produce a roster size that was at least comparable to its predecessor.

Most damning of all, and this is my personal opinion, the character choices suck. Not really a fan of any of the Marvel cast, though I get why they would want to emphasize characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for Capcom, that list is horribly uninspired. Only 3 new characters, and some of the returning characters from Marvel vs. Capcom 3 are just the wrong choices. If you’re going to bring characters back, why would you drop Wesker and Phoenix Wright for Nemesis?

I will keep my fingers crossed that this information proves false, but the source has proven their credibility. Once again, Capcom has seemingly dropped the ball. Should this prove to be true, my hype levels for the game will fall through the floor and it’s going to take some killer word-of-mouth to bring me back.
