Thoughts on the Big All-New, All Different Marvel Reveal: Everything Else
Thanks to a leak of the latest Marvel Preview, we got an advanced look of 45 new Marvel Comics titles that will launch as part of All-New, All Different Marvel. This will take place after the Secret Wars crossover event completes in the summer. Lots to say, so we’ll break it out into different franchises. Already covered X-Men and Spider-Man, so this time it’s everything else in the Marvel universe!

Making a notable first impression in Secret Wars, the all-female A-Force will continue to serve up justice as part of the All-New, All-Different Marvel. With G. Willow Wilson writing, I trust that this is going to be a great ride. Furthermore, Nico Minoru of Runaways is a key character on this squad, and I’m all for any sort of nods to that cult hit series.

Huge fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but not at all a fan of them in the comics. Not when they were being handled by Abnett and Lanning. Not now with Brian Michael Bendis. The old series caused my eyes to glaze over with all of the cosmic Marvel gibberish, while the new series sorely lacked the charm and character that made the movie great.
Excited for Bendis’ other work as part of All-New, All-Different Marvel, but I can pass on this. The only reason I’m even mentioning this is due to the fact that it looks like the series will feature a new female Star Lord. My money is on it being Kitty Pryde.

Off the strength of the hit Netflix show, Daredevil stock is higher than ever. This time, he’s back with an apprentice who looks a hell of a lot like Gambit. It’s not actually the raging Cajun, but damn it’s close. Still have to finish season one of the show, as well as a few Daredevil trades on my shelf, but maybe I’ll catch up in time for this!

Kamala Khan has been a big hit for Marvel. I really enjoy the character and her stories, as she’s basically the modern equivalent of 60s-era Spider-Man. Based on the picture, I’m guessing at least part of her new story will relate to her new spot on the Avengers. Created by the same team that brought us this rising star, they should continue their hot streak here.

Sparked by her appearance in the Age of Ultron movie, Steff and I tuned into the Scarlet Witch episode of Geek History Lesson to learn more about Magneto’s-sometimes-daughter. Maybe I’m off-base, but it sounds like she hasn’t done much on her own other than marry Vision, have daddy issues and that one time where she almost completely wiped out the mutant race. Maybe now’s the time to let Scarlet Witch shine. No idea what it could possibly be about, but I’ll keep a positive outlook on this one.
Wrapping things up
With at least 45 new or relaunching titles coming from Marvel in the fall, it’s going to be a crazy time for comic fans. I flip flop between thinking they’ve shaken things up too much or not enough, but it at least looks like Marvel has tried to at least make things different without throwing away decades of continuity. Can’t wait for this new era of Marvel to begin!
