My Sony PlayStation 3D Display Has Died From the Blinking Red Light of Death

So much for that positive review. I’ll have to go back and edit that now.

Sat down at my gaming desk last night and attempted to turn on my Sony PlayStation 3D Display. Instead, no picture appeared, and a red light flashed under the screen. Turns out, there are a lot of complaints about this all over the internet. Though I wasn’t able to track down the cause, I’ve read that when this happens, the TV is toast.

I’ve also read that Sony customer support is terrible about the matter, as they don’t know what the problem is and don’t send out the cardboard coffins to ship the TV back. Without that and without my receipt (lost it in the move), I’m pretty much screwed.

I’ll probably go TV shopping tonight. It’s really disappointing to have this kind of thing happen and unfortunate that it’s apparently happening to a lot of people who have no course of action other than to ditch it. Please take my word for it and DO NOT BUY THIS TV.

I read this and still went ahead and bought it. Huge mistake. Just one week after buying it, the tv stopped working, in just the way you and others described. I wish I listened to the complaints. People, save the frustration by avoiding this tv.
